Gerard Piqué would welcome Alexis Sanchez and Giuseppe Rossi with open arms. “They have what it takes for Barcelona.”

The European Champions have confirmed links with both players, although it looks as if only one will be signed over the summer.

“I know that Rossi is grateful to Villarreal for giving him such notoriety, but the time has come for him to make that step up in quality,” explained Piqué at a Nike promotional event.

“I know that Rossi is grateful to Villarreal for giving him such notoriety, but the time has come for him to make that step up in quality,” explained Piqué at a Nike promotional event.

“He would have no problems settling in at Barcelona, knowing his touch and movement off the ball.”

Spain international Piqué was Rossi's teammate at Manchester United, but the Italy international has improved in leaps and bounds over the past two years.

Udinese star Sanchez is another player heavily linked with Barcelona in a €30m move.

“I know his quality and he really made us suffer when facing Chile in the World Cup. It was a huge struggle to stop him.

“Sanchez has what it takes to do well at Barça, so we'd welcome him with open arms.”
