Napoli winger Hugo Campagnaro is out of intensive care after a car accident that killed three people.

The player was driving one of the vehicles in the smash in Argentina and his best friend Alvaro Castelli was among the victims.

The official Napoli website confirmed Campagnaro is out of intensive care and could be released from hospital this weekend.

“Fortunately he is doing much better. There are no fractures and only some heavy bruising,” explained his uncle, Sergio Castillo.

“He is very upset at losing his friend, as they knew each other since birth. He must find the strength to carry on and we all need to give him a hand to get back on his feet.

“Strangely, it might be better for Hugo to return to Italy and Naples as soon as possible. Concentrating on football could help him forget this terrible incident.”
