Milan coach Stefano Pioli said he’s not worried about the players on expiring contracts at San Siro and ignores the critics until the end of the season.

Milan have not confirmed the future of star players like Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, who are on expiring deals, but Pioli said the rumours have not reached the camp.

“I see an attentive group,” Pioli said at a press conference. “We want to do something and may not have been able to against Lazio.

“In moments like these, it’s also normal to be more tense, because we know what we have done so far.

“Nobody thinks about the future, the rumours that circulate on the outside have not reached us. Our future is tomorrow, not ahead.”

Pioli prepares for the match against Benevento after back-to-back defeats to Sassuolo and Lazio, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic was absent with a muscle injury.

“I don’t look for culprits, but I work to find solutions. Every game we try to find solutions to be more dangerous,” Pioli said when he was asked if he lacked forwards.

Jens Petter Hauge has struggled for playing time in recent weeks but Pioli claims the Norwegian can still be useful for the Rossoneri.

“Of course, he can be useful,” the coach said. “We have many different attacking playing, it depends on what game we want to play.”

The Italian sports pages have criticised Milan after the two poor performances, but Pioli wants to leave the evaluation until the end of the season.

“No comment. The important judgements will be those at the end of the championship, not now,” he said. “It will depend on what we manage to do.

“If we finish in the top four, there will be positive judgements, otherwise they will not be positive. At this moment, the comments don’t count.

“Let’s think about the pitch and give our all.”
