“We are missing a top result against one of the big clubs, though we went close with Milan. Napoli represents another opportunity,” Pioli told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Napoli are in an excellent period of form and showed just what they can do in the Champions League by beating some of Europe’s best sides.
“It’s true they had a few setbacks in Serie A when distracted by the Champions League, but that is only to be expected, as they are not used to these commitments.”
Bologna will change their system to adapt for the occasion, although Pioli warns there are different elements in play.
“We will start with a three-man defence, but certainly won’t defend with just three players. The only way to get a result is to stay compact and not spread out too much.
“Aside from tactics, what really counts is attitude and we cannot get that wrong tonight. I want to see an aggressive Bologna from start to finish.”
