“The results say we are doing well and we want to continue improving game after game. We have the opportunity to continue that journey tomorrow,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“I believe Torino play a unique style of football in Serie A, as they wait for opponents and hit them on the break, forcing you to be very attentive tactically. We will certainly play with a three-man midfield, then we’ll see if there’s a point going forward or back.

“I know Giampiero Ventura very well, he is a great Coach I have faced many times. He used to play 4-2-4 and has changed shape, but the principle remains the same. It will be a complicated game for us.”

Lazio had Mauricio sent off after just six minutes, but still beat Rosenborg 3-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.

Despite impressive results in Serie A and Europe, the fans continue to boycott the Stadio Olimpico over the decision to split the Curva Nord and Sud with barriers.

“I won’t judge, but the fans know full well what a difference it makes playing in a full or empty stadium. We are stronger together and without them we are certainly weaker.”

Pioli was asked about the lack of playing time afforded to Morrison, who continues to send enigmatic tweets referencing his future.

“I have 30 quality players who all want to play. There is healthy but ferocious competition for places, I evaluate what I see in training and give no preference to anybody. I pick those who deserve to play, who train consistently, professionally and openly.”

Goalkeeper Federico Marchetti is in doubt for tomorrow’s game after coming down with flu symptoms.
