The youngster has played 199 times for the Diavolo and could reach the 200-milestone already at 21 and the coach applauded the Italy international during his press conference ahead of the match against Sassuolo tomorrow.

“It’s an important milestone, Gigio must have ambition and continue to work like he is doing now,” Pioli said. “He has the potential to become the best in the world.

“He has all the qualities, technically and morally, to become a truly great player.”

Donnarumma, capped 16 times by Italy so far, has kept 12 clean sheets in 32 Serie A matches this term.
