Stefano Pioli says he is confident that Federico Chiesa will stay at Fiorentina for the foreseeable future.

Chiesa has been linked with moves to some of Europe’s biggest clubs since breaking out last season, but the winger recently signed a new contract with Fiorentina and Pioli believes it was a sign of loyalty to the Viola.

“Will Chiesa stay? I think so. Chiesa signed a new contract because he believes in this project,” the Coach told Stadio.

“Will Chiesa stay? I think so. Chiesa signed a new contract because he believes in this project,” the Coach told Stadio.

Pioli takes his team to the Olimpico on Sunday, in what is a reunion between the 52-year-old and Lazio.

“Lazio are a good team, but for them to get into the top four, they’ll have to fight,” he continued.

“If they finish fifth, it’s because Juve, Napoli, Roma and Inter are really good teams.

“Inzaghi? He’s doing a great job. They could have a season like the last one if all their players stay fit.

“What Fiorentina are lacking? Very little. The passion in Florence is and will always exist: the fans should try to put other things aside.

“We want to build something important: I’m not here to ask for more time because I’d like to give our fans and, by extension, ourselves the best possible satisfactions, but this won’t be a season full of successes.
