Stefano Pioli celebrated his 57th birthday with Milan players after today’s training at Milanello.

Milannews reports that players and staff remained at their training centre after a morning session and toasted the coach, celebrating his birthday with a cake.

Pioli won Milan’s first Scudetto in 11 years last season and the club have also made their birthday wishes on social media: “A burning desire to win and innovate, have fiery celebrations, gaffer. You brought us back to the top of Italy.”

Pioli was included in the top-five coaches in the World by the magazine FourFourTwo earlier this week.

The Rossoneri are preparing to face Monza in a rather unusual Lombard derby on Saturday.

Monza were promoted to Italy’s top flight for the first time in history last season and their owner Silvio Berlusconi will meet the Rossoneri for the first time as an opponent.
