Chievo could earn as much as €9m from the proposed sale of Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti to Genoa.

It was reported on Thursday that Genoa had agreed to sign Pinamonti for around €18m – a fee considered excessive by many for a player who had made just 32 senior appearances in his career.

However, Calciomercato.com claims Inter have had to inflate the price due to a private agreement they signed in 2014.

The Nerazzurri took the 20-year-old from Chievo in 2013, and they would have promised the Flying Donkeys’ 50 percent of a future sale.

Consequently, only €9m will go down as capital gains on the Beneamata’s books, with the other €9m set to swell the coffers of the relegated Gialloblu.
