Super-agent Rafaela Pimenta recounted the difficulties faced by the injured Paul Pogba and touched on the future of Inter’s Denzel Dumfries.

The 26-year-old Dutch full back did well at the World Cup in Qatar and looks set to be the player the Nerazzurri sell in order to help them navigate the choppy waters of their financial issues. A January departure looks unlikely for Dumfries, who could make a move abroad in the summer.

Speaking to Rai Sport, Pimenta first discussed her client Dumfries and his situation at Inter.

“We all saw the matches he played with the Netherlands at the World Cup, he did very well, but we expected that.

“We’re happy for him, first of all. Then I hope Inter are happy with him, but they certainly will be. He’s an Inter player, he plays with heart, then we’ll see.”

She then spoke about Pogba and his injury issues at Juventus this season.

“When Paul realised he wouldn’t be able to take part in the World Cup, he had a really difficult time. He was very bad, then he understood that he couldn’t still think about missing the World Cup because he is a Juventus player and he has to think about his club.”

The super-agent commented on her relationship with the Bianconeri.

“From my side there has always been a lot of clarity, I hope things can continue to go well as they always have.”

She gave her thoughts on the January transfer window.

“The January market, quite rightly, is not so hot because it’s a repair market. This time it will be interesting because some teams last summer postponed decisions on whether or not to buy players until January because of the World Cup. I’m curious to see what will happen.”

Finally, Pimenta spoke about the role of agents in modern football.

“Mino never wanted a battle, but he wanted to express the idea that agents are a piece of this wonderful game that is football. Agents are players in this world and for this reason they must have rights and duties, they must be listened to.”

Pogba has been sidelined since the pre-season due to a knee injury and Juventus hope to recover him in the coming weeks, keen to finally welcome back the Frenchman on the pitch.
