Nicolò Fagioli’s misplaced pass led to Gregoire Defrel’s opener in Sassuolo–Juventus and the Italian midfielder broke down in tears a few seconds later after being subbed off.
Sassuolo put their noses ahead at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday thanks to a Gregoire Defrel goal. Fagioli gave away the ball inside the box after a corner kick and the French striker was quick to control the ball and beat Mattia Perin at the near post.
Massimiliano Allegri reacted immediately by making two substitutions. Fabio Miretti replaced Fagioli, while Federico Chiesa came in for Filip Kostic.
Fagioli was so distraught that he broke down in tears after sitting on the Old Lady’s bench.
