Krzysztof Piatek is continuing to shatter records for Genoa, including the best Serie A start for a debutant since 1949-50.

The Polish striker was picked up over the summer for just €4m and has quickly become a hero to the fans.

He bagged a brace in the first half of the game against Frosinone this afternoon, taking his Serie A tally to eight goals in six appearances.

That makes Piatek the first Serie A debutant to score eight goals in the opening six rounds since Karl Aage Hansen for Atalanta in 1949-50.

His efficiency is remarkable, as those eight goals came from his first 14 shots on target.

This isn’t taking into account that Piatek also scored four goals in his competitive debut for Genoa, a Coppa Italia encounter with Lecce in August.

In all tournaments, Piatek has been responsible for 12 of Genoa’s total 15 goals so far this term.
