Krzysztof Piatek has asserted that ‘I was born ready and I’ll do everything to get Milan back into the Champions League.’

Piatek was officially unveiled by Milan on Thursday afternoon, having completed his €35m transfer from Genoa, and the striker is determined to make a success of his time at San Siro.

“For me it’s another step forward in my career,” he began.

“I hope I can play well with Cutrone. We want to score a lot of goals together and I hope things go well for us. I can play with another striker next to me.

“I didn’t think I’d ever get here. Next to me is Maldini, whom I’ve always admired. For me it’s a great honour to be here.

“I was born ready. I’m ready now and I’ll do everything to get Milan back into the Champions League. I’ll fight for Milan.

“I was a Milan fan growing up and it was my dream to play here. Just sitting here next to legends like Maldini and Leonardo is a huge honour.

“I hope I can show my talent in every game. I could say anything here, but everything will be decided on the field.

“It’s a pleasure for me to be here at Milan. I’m a striker, I want to score in every game, work very hard and then we’ll see what happens on the field.

“I’ve always believed in myself. I wanted to show something good in Serie A when I joined Genoa.

“It’s important for me to score because I’m a striker. I’m the same person as before I joined Genoa.

“Football is like this, it’s unexpected. I expected that after scoring 13 goals, other clubs would be interested in me, although I didn’t expect Milan to be one of them.

“The season was a bit turbulent with Genoa, but that’s football. I want to train hard, a change of Coach isn’t a problem for me and it was the same at Genoa.

“It’s great to play at San Siro, but I think everything will always be about what happens on the pitch. I‘m focused on that and I’ll do everything to do my best and score goals.

“Celebrating like a gunslinger is my style. It comes naturally to me.

“’I’d like to play in the Champions League. It gives me huge joy to play for Milan and I’ll do my best to score for these colours.”
