Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has said that only “a phenomenon” deserves to wear the Bianconeri’s number 10 shirt.
Carlos Tevez’s departure has left the symbolic number unoccupied, but Agnelli suggested it will only be assigned to a player who deserves it.
“The most important thing for obtaining results is the strength of the squad,” Agnelli told Tuttosport.
“The numbers on the back of the shirt are more effort than they’re worth.

“If anything, shirt numbers are important from a commercial perspective – the number 10 has always made people dream, it’s the shirt that the kids want.
“However, it’s a shirt that we must find a player with certain characteristics for, a phenomenon.
“Especially when we’re talking about the number 10 of Juventus. At the right time we will evaluate this.
“But sometimes the shirt isn’t assigned and if this must happen this year, it won’t be a tragedy.”
