Vladimir Petkovic has warned Lazio “the season isn’t over yet” as they welcome Sampdoria with an eye on the Coppa Italia Final.

The win away to Inter has practically secured their spot in the Europa League, but there are still two games left to play and the Coach is concerned. Click here for a match preview.

“The season isn’t over yet. We still need to play the final two games before we can pass judgment on this campaign.

“The Coppa Italia Final with Roma is a separate thing entirely and we shouldn’t focus on that right now, even if admittedly the players are inevitably thinking about it.

“In general I see this as a very positive campaign. Now we must win the last two rounds before seeking the icing on the cake.

“I think that with six points from the last two rounds we will qualify for Europe, but we need those points to be sure. Sampdoria have no pressure on them and many players will want to use this as a shop window for the transfer market.”

Cristian Brocchi will not be taking part, as he officially retired this week after the latest injury setback.

“It’s a shame for him to end this way. He had a splendid career and must be proud. I wish him all the best,” said Petkovic.

“I have had a wonderful time with the fans this year and hope many will flock to the stadium for this game. I’m glad to have found a place in their hearts, though admittedly the early results helped.”
