Milan have reportedly been offered SPAL centre-forward Andrea Petagna, as an alternative to Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa.

Agent Giuseppe Riso was spotted at Casa Milan for over an hour today, meeting with directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.

According to Calciomercato.com and MilanNews.it, the topic of conversation was Petagna, who would be available from SPAL as a reinforcement for the Milan attack.

The 24-year-old had his most prolific ever campaign last season, scoring 16 Serie A goals in 36 games, plus one in a single Coppa Italia appearance.

It would be a return to the Rossoneri for Petagna, who came up through the Milan youth academy, went out on several loans and eventually was sold to Atalanta for just €1m in January 2016.

SPAL paid €15m to purchase him from Atalanta in 2018, so any fee would now be even higher than that.

Petagna is seen as very much a Plan B, with Atletico Madrid forward Correa the first choice, even if he’ll cost €55m.

There was a report on Twitter from Cristian Camino, a journalist who works for DeporTea in Argentina, who claimed Correa’s agent is flying to Europe to finalise the move to Milan.
