Diego Perotti admits Roma “lack a hitman who can score 30 goals, but second place is still possible.”

The striker spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of Sunday’s trip to Atalanta.

“Second place is still possible, we’ll await InterNapoli because our objective is to close on Maurizio Sarri’s men before we go head-to-head,” said Perotti.

“We are going through a great period of form and are still alive and kicking despite Monday’s draw with Bologna.”

The striker spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of Sunday’s trip to Atalanta.

“Second place is still possible, we’ll await Inter-Napoli because our objective is to close on Maurizio Sarri’s men before we go head-to-head,” said Perotti.

“We are going through a great period of form and are still alive and kicking despite Monday’s draw with Bologna.”

The Giallorossi have scored with 18 different players this season, but Perotti hints there is an issue with Edin Dzeko.

“Gonzalo Higuain is the best striker in Serie A and scored 30 goals. We lack a hitman who can score 30 goals, but at least we spread them out over more players.

“Our style of play changes a little, as when Edin starts the centre-backs are more static, whereas if I play then there’s a little more freedom and that means we all have to work harder in covering.

“The good thing about this team is that we are all first choice players, we all think of doing what is best for the team.

“It’s important that 18 different players scored, as you need that if you don’t have someone who can score 30 by himself.

“The Coach is very demanding and always wants us to give 100 per cent. You can see the fruits of that labour on the pitch, because if you train like that, it becomes normal to play at that intensity too.”
