The Giallorossi are in Spain ahead of their Champions League Last 16 second leg against Real Madrid, and the former Sevilla man accompanied Coach Luciano Spalletti in the pre-match Press conference.

“Why have I been better in Italy than in Spain?” Perotti considered.

“I have no secrets, I came to Genoa and did well. I haven’t had the injuries which I had in Spain, and so also at Roma I’m happy to be playing with injuries.

“Scoring more goals is something I want to improve, I’m an attacking player. I came in and played straight away, I feel good.

“My contribution has always been assists, but I want to score more.

“You can always improve, I’m here to play for the Coach and the great players on our side. I’m here to improve and score a lot, I still have a lot to give and I hope to give a lot to Roma.

“Facing Cristiano Ronaldo? He’s a player who has scored a lot, he’s never had injuries in his career and I really admire him.”

Last season Schalke were 2-0 down after the first leg of their Champions League Last 16 tie, but almost eliminated Los Merengues, winning 4-3 at the Bernabeu, can Roma go one better?

“I remember that game, we’re here to score at least two goals, and more would be even better. We know we have a chance, and we’ll play tomorrow.

“In a football match anything can happen, we’re coming off seven wins in a row and we’ll try our best.

“I always have confidence in my team, seven wins out of seven while playing well is a reference point.

“Tomorrow we have to score at least two goals, it won’t be easy but anything can happen in a one-off game.”
