The Giallorossi struggled to get going, but eventually ran out 4-0 winners in the first Serie A game of the season.

“It’s always important to start with a win and now we have the confidence to take on Porto,” Perotti told Mediaset Premium.

The first leg of the Champions League play-off was a 1-1 draw in Portugal after Thomas Vermaelen’s red card.

“The second leg is going to be a difficult match and they’ll need to attack us, so we must make the most of the spaces that open up.

“We have to realise it won’t be easy, but we got a good draw playing with 10 men and must play to win. We’ve also got the home advantage.

“I feel very good because Roma put faith in me the moment I arrived. My teammates always helped me and I want to repay them.”
