“We proved that we can win without Ivan Perisic and Kevin de Bruyne,” declared director of sport Klaus Allofs.
“When you win 3-0 against a side like Schalke, that is undoubtedly a response.”
Sky Sport Italia reported that director general Marco Fassone returned to Italy on Friday evening, a sign that the final details were down to the lawyers.
Wolfsburg are requesting bank guarantees for the loan with option to buy, but the fact it’s a weekend and the transfer deadline day is on Monday isn’t helping.
Therefore Perisic will arrive early to complete the medical and agree personal terms with his agent.
