Ivan Perisic says “it’s an honour” to play for Inter but can’t guarantee he’ll see out his five-year contract.
The Croatian winger joined from Wolfsburg last summer, and after some initial struggles has scored six Serie A goals and provided five assists.
“I’m very happy in Italy and at Inter,” Perisic assured Inter Channel.
“When I was a kid I followed a lot of Leagues, and I knew all the great players who wore this shirt. Italy is a beautiful country and I really like it.

“When I was a kid I followed a lot of Leagues, and I knew all the great players who wore this shirt. Italy is a beautiful country and I really like it.
“The negotiations lasted a long time, but I did everything to come here. It’s something special, when you meet the great former players… it was like a dream.
“Now I want to give everything for this club in the hope that Inter can return to the top. Now many players get to play for a club as big as Inter, so it’s an honour to wear this shirt.
“I have a five-year contract, I’m just finishing the first so I have four-years left.
“In football you never know though, but if anyone is interested they’ll have to talk to Inter.”
Despite being top of the League at Christmas, the Nerazzurri have fallen to fourth, but Perisic calls for patience from the fans.
“The fans want to see a winning Inter like in 2010, but we’re a young team and we’ve made steps forward.
“This season a lot of new players came in, so we needed time to grow. The important thing is for the team to win, if one day I only score one or two goals all season, but the team wins the Scudetto, I’ll be happy.
“Was it hard to adapt? Initially of course I spent more time with the players who spoke my language, but I’ve managed to fit in well with everyone.
“It’s important to have a good relationship off the pitch to have it in the game too.”
