Mattia Perin reportedly injured his ankle on international duty after a curious incident with a water bottle.
The Juventus goalkeeper was ruled out of the Italy squad for the 2-0 victory over Finland and remains in doubt to face Liechtenstein on Tuesday.
According to Sportmediaset, Perin sprained his ankle because he accidentally trod on a water bottle that had been left on the training ground.
It was not a serious incident, and he could well be on the bench for Tuesday’s second Euro 2020 qualifier in Parma.
