Il Giornale reports Real Madrid President Florentino Perez would accept a deal worth €60m for Inter target Luka Modric.

The Croatia captain has emerged as a new transfer target for the Nerazzurri in recent days, amid speculation he may want to leave the Bernabeu.

The 32-year-old is due to return to Madrid from his summer holiday this weekend, ahead of reporting for pre-season training with Real and holding talks with Perez.

Perez publically stated earlier in the week that he would not consider selling Modric for anything less than a staggering €750m.

However, Inter are hopeful of landing their target provided he tells the Los Blancos chief he wants to leave.

Should this come to pass, Il Giornale believe the Nerazzurri would open with an offer totalling €40m – an initial €15m loan fee, followed by the option to sign him permanently next summer for a further €25m.

And the Italian daily claims this would enough to bring Perez to the negotiating table.

The newspaper states the Madrid President would want €25m for the loan, with €35m to make the transfer permanent.

The Nerazzurri have been in contact with Modric’s agents throughout the week, with a four-year contract reportedly proposed.
