At first there were fears of a fractured fibula, which would’ve kept the striker out for four months, but initial X-Rays showed only heavy bruising to the calf.

There’s also bad news coming in from South America, as Pereyra pulled out of Argentina’s match against Ecuador with a right thigh problem.

More tests are required to ascertain the extent of the damage, but this is not what Max Allegri wanted to hear leading up to the big game with Inter next weekend.
