Roma full-back Bruno Peres is in advanced negotiations with Sao Paulo in a deal worth €8m, it’s reported.
Sky Sport Italia are confident the talks are progressing, although the two clubs are still working out the formula for the transfer.
It will either be a loan with option to buy or have an obligation to buy with the payment spread out more evenly.
Peres had been on the verge of a move to his old club Torino, but it’s reported he felt homesick and wanted a return to Brazil.
The 28-year-old has been in Italy since 2014.
