Atalanta President Antonio Percassi admits he’ll be ‘tense from now until August’ waiting for the Champions League quarter-final with PSG. ‘It’s the game of a lifetime.’

The draw pits La Dea against Paris Saint-Germain in the one-off quarter-final in Lisbon, with the winner going on to face Atletico Madrid or RB Leipzig in the semi-final.

“I’ll be tense from now until August for such an extraordinary game! We can only hope for the best,” Percassi told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a very difficult game, will help us to grow even further and is certainly going to be an extraordinary experience.

“I think the traumatic situation in the city of Bergamo over the last few months has been extra motivation, as we want to bring a smile back to the faces of the people who have suffered so much here.”

Atalanta are on a run of nine consecutive Serie A victories and face leaders Juventus tomorrow evening, so could move to within six points of the top.

“Our primary objective this season was to secure Serie A safety, so anything after that is just a bonus. We have to focus only on finishing the season as best we can and being ready for the game of a lifetime.”

Percassi was asked if he had talked with coach Gian Piero Gasperini about the potential draw opponents.

“We discussed it with the coach and said we hoped not to face one of the big clubs with a remarkable history behind them. However, we then said, if we end up against Paris Saint-Germain, we’ll have our cards to play. Now we’ll see what happens.

“Juve are an unbelievable team, so that’ll be as tough a test as any!”
