Curiously, these teams already met on Wednesday evening in the Coppa Italia, with the Rossoneri winning 3-0 at San Siro.

“It’s a different game, especially for us, as we must play for the full 90 minutes and not in fits and starts,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“The advantage is that we can modify what we got wrong only a few days ago. When you play against a side of this level, you must maintain concentration to the end.

“I have a few options in defence and will also have to analyse the fitness levels of a few players. It’s true we are missing Momo Fares with that knee injury, but there are other solutions.”

Giampaolo Pazzini had been expected to start in the Coppa, but was left out along with Alessio Cerci.

“Pazzini hasn’t worked much with the rest of the team over the last three weeks and it’s just an issue of time for him after a long lay-off. He’s improving and in better shape now.

“Cerci is someone who in recent weeks has changed the balance of our games and he can do it again. We let him rest and recuperate energy over the last few days, so he’d be at his best for this match.

“The main weakness for Milan is pace, so we must work on that and make the most of it. If there was a player I’d remove from the Milan squad, it’d be Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“Our home record this season is also disappointing and I’d like to see us get more points at the Bentegodi.”
