Verona President Maurizio Setti reveals how he signed Giampaolo Pazzini – thanks to a Luca Toni family get-together.

The striker was a free agent after his contract with Milan expired and was presented as a new Hellas Verona player on Friday.

“This summer I went to the christening of Toni’s son and Pazzini was there too,” President Setti revealed.
“We took a picture together and I sent it to (Coach Andrea) Mandorlini, asking ‘Do you want him?’
“We made the Coach happy with this gift, which is for him and for the fans.”
Pazzini and Toni were teammates at Fiorentina and remain firm friends.
