Mario Pasalic’s agent believes his client proved Milan “can count” on him after the midfielder’s belated debut against Pescara on Sunday.

Pasalic, a late-summer arrival from Chelsea on a season-long loan, appeared for the final half-hour of Milan’s 1-0 win against Pescara over the weekend, and Vincenzo Cavaliere is confident the cameo will be making of the Croat at San Siro.

“He was excited because he couldn’t wait to wear the Milan shirt,” the representative told MilanNews.

“Training’s going well and he was honoured by Montella’s words before the game against Pescara, when he said that he’d buy him. These are important words.

“He entered the field well in the second half and showed character and technique because he pulled left and right and fitted well into Milan’s midfield. I think he can be useful to the Rossoneri cause.

“It was a very important result against Pescara, so it was a happy Sunday for Mario. Physically he’s fine, he’s regained his shape during these two months at Milanello.

“He’s also ready to play 90 minutes, but Milan are playing well and he’s aware that he’ll have to fight for his place.

“Yesterday, something became certain for the Coach: he can count on Mario, who already has a lot of international experience.

“The idea of the Coach signing him from Chelsea for [Milan’s] project of a young team makes sense.

“Can Milan can buy him in January? It’s a situation that could materialise, but the English club will decide. It’s a bit too early to talk about this.”
