Marco Parolo bitterly criticised officials after Lazio were denied a penalty against Cagliari. “They don’t want to check VAR with us.”

“They don’t want to check VAR with us, because the penalties are so obvious that they’d have to award them to us,” midfielder Parolo told Lazio Style Radio.

“They don’t want to check VAR with us, because the penalties are so obvious that they’d have to award them to us,” midfielder Parolo told Lazio Style Radio.

“Ciro Immobile had no reason to dive in the box during that situation and the referees have to analyse the dynamics around moves too.

“VAR technology is very useful, but it has to be used properly, the way the officials did in the second half today when giving Cagliari a penalty.

“Evidently, this year VAR is switched off where we are concerned… Guida told us he didn’t think it was a penalty and they confirmed it via VAR. Clearly they must’ve been watching another game on their monitors.”
