There were fears the match at the Stadio Tardini would not go ahead due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the area, causing huge puddles on the playing surface.
In some of the goals, the puddles proved decisive, as the ball would not roll properly and was caught up in the mud for a 3-2 Parma victory.
“Yesterday we put in an impressive performance and in fact a dry turf would’ve favoured us even more, because we do well with pace on the counter-attack,” said President Tommaso Ghirardi.
