“There was a difference of opinion with Roma, as the auction will make clear,” Parma general manager Pietro Leonardi told Radio Manà Manà.
“We tried to reach an agreement, but scrapped the idea of renewing the co-ownership status early on.”
According to the rumours, Roma would win the auction with a bid of €4.9m compared to Parma’s alleged €4.26m. The Ducali snapped him up on a free transfer last summer when he was released by Chelsea.
“We proposed an important sum, but considering what Roma appear to have offered, we should at least have made a healthy profit. In that case, we’d be happy.
“If Borini was to remain with us, then we’d also be happy, as we would already have Sebastian Giovinco’s replacement. So either way we’ll be happy.”
Leonardi also commented on the negotiations between Parma and Lazio for Sergio Floccari.
“We have to make some evaluations, but Lazio do not intend to lower their price-tag.”
