Parma lost 2-0 to AS Monaco in their pre-season friendly thanks to a Joao Moutinho brace.

The Ducali started Mattia Cassani, who only signed his three-year contract right before kick-off at the Stadio Tardini.

Moutinho broke the deadlock with a terrific long-range free kick, while Ishak Belfodil, Alessandro Lucarelli and Dimitar Berbatov threatened before the break.

A fine Antonio Mirante save could not stop Moutinho turning in the rebound for Monaco’s second of the game.

Massimo Gobbi saw his effort deflected off target and Raffaele Palladino turned over at full stretch.
