Dani Parejo believes Atalanta at San Siro will be “just as complicated” for Valencia as their Champions League trips to Chelsea and Ajax.
The first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 kicks off on Wednesday at 20.00 GMT.
“We are missing players, not for the first time this season, but we win because we play as a team and not on an individual level,” said the midfielder said in his press conference.

“This is a very difficult match and we are talking about a really strong team, run by an excellent club. We won at Stamford Bridge, we beat Ajax away, so it’ll be just as complicated tomorrow. It’s played over two legs this time, though.
“We topped our Champions League group and could’ve been drawn with anyone in the Round of 16. Atalanta finished second because they had Manchester City in their group.
“We won’t be underestimating anyone, although clearly this is a less complicated fixture than others we could’ve had. Atalanta are having a remarkable season, as they scored 63 goals in 24 Serie A games, beat Roma last week, so they’re going to be tough opponents.”
This is Atalanta’s first Champions League campaign, so in theory, Valencia ought to have more experience.
“I was taught we always have to step on to the field trying to win, but we’re solid on home turf and need to keep our eyes on the prize.
“We’ve got more experience now, as we reached the Europa League semi-final, won a Final against Barcelona, lost only to Real Madrid.”
