“We are concentrated on putting in the best possible performance, so it doesn’t matter if Joao Cancelo is further up or Paulo Dybala is on the bench,” the director of sport told Sky Sport Italia.

As the Bianconeri are 13 points clear at the top of the table, it has been suggested they are complacent and not accustomed to being pushed as hard as Atleti did.

“I really have doubts when people say Juventus aren’t tested enough in Serie A, because whenever a player comes here from abroad, they struggle to adapt and say Serie A is nothing like the Premier League or other tournaments. Both can’t be right.

“Facing a Champions League match is not the same thing as any domestic tie, it’s always going to be more difficult and more complicated.

“Allegri is an excellent Coach and has proved that over the years. Obviously, it’s easy to say anything with the benefit of hindsight.”

Paratici was asked if Juventus felt extra pressure to win the Champions League this season after investing over €100m in Cristiano Ronaldo.

“When you work for Juve or any other big club, there is always pressure. We’re used to it and we felt it long before Ronaldo arrived.”
