Fabio Paratici believes tonight’s Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen is “a great opportunity” for Juventus’ squad players to impress.

The match in Germany is a dead-rubber for Juve, given they are already certain of not only qualification for the last 16 but also top spot in Group D.

“We expect a great game, we’re happy to have got to this point already qualified,” Paratici told JTV.

“Having said that, we always have the ambition to win. Playing in the Champions League is always difficult.

“Lokomotiv had won their domestic League, we know Atletico and Leverkusen have some dynamic players. They’re doing very well.

“We’re happy about qualifying and securing first place with games to spare.”

The likes of Daniele Rugani, Merih Demiral and Adrien Rabiot are starting against Leverkusen, and the sporting director is looking forward to seeing how they fare.

“This game allows us to see some of our lesser-used players at work.

“It’s not an exam for anyone, they have the confidence of the club and coach. It’s a great opportunity for them to impress.

“The Champions League is the biggest competition, like it is every season, and there are always new players coming through, giving it an international edge.”
