Papu Gomez admits ‘my shooting has been off recently’ but blames his poor form on Atalanta’s Europa League exit.

However, the Orobici were eliminated at the playoff stage in August and the forward has scored just one goal since Serie A’s opening day.
“Now we’re facing many teams who need points, but we also need to improve our own position,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“In the last few games we’ve only scored two goals. Yet we scored eight against Sarajevo, three against Maccabi Haifa and Roma and four against Frosinone.
“Everything went well in previous years but the ball is hitting the post and going out of play at the moment.
“My shooting has been off recently, so I have to improve. I don’t know if the Coach will put his faith in me or someone else.
“The biggest motivation came from being able to play in the Europa League, we were prepared for it and when you lose it’s a huge disappointment.
“We hope to recover because our position isn’t good and obviously it’s risky.”
