Genoa have officially signed former Portugal midfielder Miguel Veloso for the third time.

Veloso’s return was confirmed in a statement on Genoa’s official website, while he arrives on a free transfer after failing to find a new club over the summer.

The 32-year-old is understood to have put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season, with the option for a second year.

Veloso made 92 appearances for Grifone between 2010 and 2018, sandwiched by a four-season stint in Ukraine with Dynamo Kiev.

He has also represented his country 56 times but has not turned out for the Seleccao at a major tournament since the 2014 World Cup.
