It was rumoured that the Giallorossi had moved early to beat the competition to the Italian international.

However, Tulio Tinti has told Gazzetta Giallorossa that there is no truth in the speculation ahead of the January transfer window.

“The voices which are talking about Angelo moving to Roma are totally unfounded,” Tinti is quoted as saying.

“There is no truth in it at all.

“The market will open soon and a few sides have already made moves, but we will have to wait and see what happens.

“There is no agreement with anyone and Angelo Palombo is still a Sampdoria player.”

Serie B outfit Samp have admitted that they are ready to listen to offers for the former Fiorentina player.

The Viola and Juventus, as well as Udinese, are understood to be interested in the 30-year-old.
