Patron James Pallotta has claimed that the sale of Roma has “nothing to do with the team’s performance” despite their third consecutive defeat in Serie A.
Pallotta is currently doing the paperwork that will see Dan Friedkin take over the Giallorossi and they are reportedly close to finalising the handover.
Roma are struggling to perform on the pitch and lost terrain to Atalanta after the 2-1 defeat in Bergamo on Saturday, but Pallotta insists that it has nothing to do with what goes on behind the drapes at the Olimpico.

“Roma still have the opportunity to do well,” he told Il Messaggero. “The negotiation for the change of ownership has nothing to do with the team’s performance.”
Their third consecutive defeat in Serie A has prolonged the run to five games without a win for Roma, who are preparing to face KAA Gent in the last 32 of the Europa League on Thursday.
