The Giallorossi President had a meeting with the mayor of Rome about the potential new stadium today, and after discussing that project he spoke about other affairs at the club, including the Scudetto.

“Juventus have a top squad, but every match has to be played,” Pallotta told Sky.

“We’re not afraid of them, but of course we respect them because they’re a great squad with a great setup behind the scenes. It’s too early to talk about it now.”

Francesco Totti is about to turn 40, but the Lupi captain has hinted that he could even play beyond this season.

“There are so many questions, all of them about his physical condition. He’ll stay with us for many years. At the end of the season we talked and we decided to keep him with us.

“He’s very important for the team and for the city. We’re a team, Totti works for the group and the group works for Totti.

“Edin Dzeko? We talked a lot this summer. We always knew he had great talent and he can be a leader. He works hard in training, and it was important that he chose Serie A over the Premier League.

“He had to adjust to our League, but he’s doing well this season. He’s some size, and sometimes he doesn’t get fouls just because of how big he is.

“He’s having a better time of it this season and I’m happy with what he’s doing.”

January saw the American make his first change on the bench, with Luciano Spalletti replacing Rudi Garcia.

“Luciano has an interesting personality, he works a lot,” Pallotta explained.

“He has a great team behind him, and we’ve always – or almost always – played well. I hope he’ll stay with us for a long time.

“He believed in the team and recognised right away that our group has great personality.”
