President James Pallotta insists he “never, never, never” spoke with Chinese investors about selling a stake in Roma.

The American owner is believed to be looking for investors to help with the stadium project, but there has also been suggestions that he was looking to sell around 30 per cent of the equity to the Evergrande Group, with an option to take the majority at a later date.

“I’ve never, never, never spoken with Evergrande or others in China,” Pallotta declared in an interview with Reuters.

“We’re not negotiating with anyone.”

The Giallorossi patron also called the rumours “ridiculous speculation” and “completely irresponsible”.

In addition, a spokesman for Evergrande told Reuters that he “hadn’t heard” anything about the supposed investment.

Pallotta currently owns around 78 per cent of the club, through the holding company Neep Roma Holding.
