Roma President James Pallotta insists there’s “no rational reason” for the new stadium project to be rejected.

The Giallorossi are planning to build a new ground, but need permission from the Lazio region before construction can begin.

Talks have been taking place yesterday and today, and the American patron is confident that the Stadio della Roma will get the go-ahead.

“We talked about the project in detail,” Pallotta told reporters outside today’s summit.

“We talked about the project in detail,” Pallotta told reporters outside today’s summit.

“They know that it’s important, we do too. I’ve alway been optimistic, there’s no rational reason for it not to be done, but we need to get things done right. The meeting went tremendously well.

“I’m optimistic that everything is fine and that the foundation stone will be laid in late winter. There are no problems with the change of mayor, I don’t see why that should be a problem.

“There are no problems, if there were any problems they’d be mostly our fault and would only delay things by a few months at most. But as things stand now with the city it’s perfect.”
