Gabriel Paletta’s agent says the defender will leave Parma, either in January or this summer.

The Ducali are bottom of Serie A, and will face a deduction of at least one point after failing to pay players' wages on time.

Paletta has featured only once for Roberto Donadoni’s side this term after undergoing back surgery in September, and the defender’s agent believes his client’s future lies away from Tardini.

Paletta has featured only once for Roberto Donadoni’s side this term after undergoing back surgery in September, and the defender’s agent believes his client’s future lies away from Tardini.

“Maybe it won’t be as early as January, but he will surely leave Parma,” Martin Guastadisegno declared in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.

“Whether it’s now or in June, I think it’s right that their paths diverge.

“Actually, in my opinion it would have been better for him to have left last June.

“What do Parma think? You’d have to ask them, I’m just thinking about Gabriel and his return to the pitch.”

The 28-year-old’s representative then seemed to backtrack slightly, insisting the Italian international wasn’t thinking about the transfer market.

“His surgery kept him out for a long time, but he’s back now and only thinking about a return to the pitch with Parma.

“The transfer market can wait.”
