The agent of Gabriel Paletta has questioned Parma’s €35m valuation of a player who has been linked with Milan.

“Playing for Milan would be a dream,” representative Martin Guastadisegno told Milan News in an interview.

“They are one of the greatest clubs in the world. I’m convinced that he would give Milan 100 per cent and that he has the qualities for the Rossoneri.”

The centre-back has been paired with the Diavolo, but Parma director general Pietro Leonardi recently insisted that it would take €35m to sign him.

“That’s crazy,” added the agent. “That price is outside the parameters of the current market and I’ll speak with Leonardi about that next week when I arrive in Italy.

“It is not up to me to set transfer fees, but €35m is certainly too high. If the club really value him that highly then his salary needs to be increased in proportion to his market value.

“Parma are a serious club and I have an excellent relationship with them. Anyway, we are only in July. I’m certain his price tag will go down in August.

“And I state again that Paletta would be the right defender for Milan.”

The 27-year-old Argentine, formerly of Liverpool and Banfield, joined the Tardini outfit in 2010 from Boca Juniors.
