Roberto De Zerbi is “irritated” by Palermo’s seventh consecutive defeat, but there are reports Davide Ballardini will be recalled.

The Rosanero fell 1-0 at home to Lazio this afternoon, setting a new club record for seven defeats in a row and remarkably not a single point from seven games at the Stadio Barbera.

“We didn’t have many shots on goal, but neither did Lazio,” De Zerbi told Radio Rai.

“The other sides fighting for safety aren’t doing much better than us and in fact some are even worse.”

What does he make of reports he’ll be fired to bring back predecessor Ballardini?

“I don’t know if it would be fair or not to sack me. We’re coming off a lot of defeats and that is irritating, but I spend all day trying to think of how we can improve.”

Multiple sources claim today that Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini called Ballardini and they will have a meeting tomorrow.

Ballardini had been fired and recalled last season, then sacked after two games of the current campaign.
