Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino assured the club has “full faith” in Coach Paulo Sousa after calls for his resignation.
The tension has been cranked up recently and overnight banners were placed on the gates of the Stadio Franchi demanding Sousa quit.
Today, ahead of Sousa’s Press conference, sporting director Corvino spoke to the gathered reporters.

“You know it is not my usual habit to come here and speak to you, but today I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity,” began Corvino.
“I am here because we want to avoid anyone creating confusion and division, when we need unity, solidity and faith, because Fiorentina are still in the running for all the objectives in Serie A and the Europa League.
“Over the last few days we have read unfounded rumours about Paulo Sousa being on the edge and Fiorentina seeking another Coach.
“I am here for confirm our faith in the Coach. What we need now is for everyone to unite around the Viola jersey, concentrating on the task at hand.”
