The 26-year-old centre-back had been on the verge of completing a transfer to Lazio over the last week, but newly-promoted Serie A side Palermo swept in to take the advantage.
“Vojislav is 95 per cent sure of going to Palermo,” agent Santiago Gentiletti told LazioNews24.com.
“The two clubs reached an agreement and we can soon positively conclude the transfer. We are very satisfied.
“Lazio? We will make a final decision in one or two days. In our view, Palermo are the best choice for Stankovic.”
It’s reported the reason for the delay is that Partizan want Stankovic available for their Europa League play-off against Neftci Baku.
