Maurizio Zamparini has reportedly decided that Siena’s Giuseppe Sannino is his ideal candidate, but the Coach may prefer Genoa this summer.

Zamparini, who has worked with over 20 Coaches during his decade of ownership over the Rosanero, has reportedly set Sannino in his sights to take over the Sicilians for 2012-13.

The fiery President allegedly met with the tactician last summer about the prospect of him replacing Delio Rossi, before he went for Stefano Pioli instead and Sannino joined Siena. However, after the 54-year-old’s impressive work with the Tuscan outfit this term, Zamparini is keen to now bring him south.

However, an obstacle to this deal, says La Repubblica, is Sannino’s reported interest in taking the Genoa bench for next season. It is a post that is expected to be vacant after their difficult season under Alberto Malesani and Pasquale Marino.

Important to Sannino’s choice is expected to be which sporting director he is keen to reunite with, as Siena’s Giorgio Perinetti is anticipated to join Palermo in the summer just as Sean Sogliano, who Sannino worked with very successfully at Varese, is thought favourite to join Genoa.
