The tactician was appointed as Rosaneri boss shortly after the start of last season and has since led them to the Serie B title and promotion back to the top flight.
Speaking at a Press conference today, Zamparini expressed his wish for Iachini to remain with the Sicilians in order to build something substantial.
“I want to start a cycle. He signed a two year contract with the option of a third year,” Zamparini told reporters.
“I’m not exaggerating when I say that he can make Palermo the Italian Atletico Madrid.
“It’s the new line that football has to take, we have seen it at the World Cup.”
